Sarasota offers plenty of stunning natural beauty, but the excitement of this extraordinary area doesn’t end there. You can also find a wide range of events to enjoy–enough to keep you busy throughout the summer and well into the fall. At Candy Swick & Company, we are well acquainted with the cultural events of Sarasota, and we’d love to show you around. Here’s just a small sampling of the entertainment you will find in this vibrant coastal city.

“Live from Downtown, it’s Friday Night!”

From 6:00 to 9:00 PM on three Friday nights a month, you can explore a different Sarasota neighborhood while enjoying live street performers. “Live from Downtown, it’s Friday Night!” was created to welcome people to discover some of the unique areas of Sarasota.

The first Friday of the month, the event takes place on Main Street at 5 Points and Park and Palm Avenue. On the second Friday, you’ll find the action in Burns Square from Mound Avenue to Ringling Boulevard along South Pineapple and South Orange Avenues. For the third Friday, this lively event takes place at Towles Court in the Adams and Washington area.

Art Walks on Palm Avenue

The first Friday of the month features an Art Walk in downtown Sarasota on Palm Avenue. From 6:00 to 9:00 PM, you can wander among some of the fine art galleries, restaurants, and jewelers that make this area special. You’ll also enjoy dancing, music, and refreshments.

Sarasota Farmers Market

Every Saturday between 7:00 AM and noon, head to downtown Sarasota at Main Street and Lemon Avenue to take in the bustling Farmers Market. You can pick up the freshest produce as well as flowers, plants, food, and even arts and crafts. Dogs are welcome at this friendly event, so grab a friend and come wander among the booths and see what you can find.

Oktoberfests

What would autumn be without this celebration of German culture and beer? You can find plenty of Oktoberfest events, such as Rocktoberfest from October 13 to 15th in JD Hamel Park. Events happen on Friday from 4:00 to 9:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 to 6:00 PM. Admission is free, and there is plenty of German food, beer, arts and crafts, and live music.
